Tis the Beginning of Extreme Decorating!

If I had the money, and more so the room to store everything, plus the time, I would absolutely decorate EVERY room in my house for the holidays. Each and every room would have a splash of holiday in it. As I was looking for Halloween decorating ideas, I came across this great bathroom! I This bathroom is decorated to catch your eye, but is very simple. It basically has the shower curtain, rug, a couple of hand towels, looks like a night light, and I would throw in candle or two, and probably just little something off the wall.

I went to Amazon and found this particular shower curtain, it’s a bit pricey, but I found several others that are adorable and cost way less. If you get as excited about the holidays and decorating as I do then we can of course find a way to fit decorating into our budget. I will tell you this, the Dollar Tree store is one of my very best friends during the holidays! I won’t go to the extreme and do every single room, but I will get as close to it as I can without going over budget.

Tis the season to begin decorating…let it begin!

Great Party Idea!

My Sister and I recently had a surprise birthday party for our Mom. It was her 87th! We did an all day open house for her, with lots of pictures everywhere in the house. This included hanging up photo’s, photo albums, and my sister even took all of our home movies from when were kids, that my Mom had already converted to VHS, but then she converted them to a DVD. I was shopping at Hobby Lobby one day and of course Christmas is everywhere at this time of year. Her colors for the party were pink and turquoise, and I stumbled across mini trees those exact colors. They were perfect to hang pictures on using the mini clothes pins! I have posted a couple of pictures so you can get the ideal. I thought it was really a neat ideal and a great way to display pictures for those type of events!

Fall Decor with a New Color Flair!

As you know I love Fall and all of it’s awesome colors! However, this year I have decided to decorate with all of the traditional colors and and add one of my next favorite colors, turquoise. This weekend I went and bought some floral items to pull this all together for my mantle. I will post that once I get that in place. But for now I thought I would post this pic of a table with those colors. I love these colors together!

Love This Kitchen!

Shabby chic kitchen

It is no secret to my family and friends, I love mid-century decor. However, as I was checking out PINTEREST this evening as I wanted to post something in regards to home decor, this picture popped up. I immediately was drawn to it and fell in love!  For some reason, no matter what I put in the description this picture kept coming back to me.

As I got to looking at it I realized it was part mid-century, part shabby chic. I do love shabby chic, but had decided to keep things partial in the lion den. So, when I saw this picture, and it kept popping up every time I did a search, it was a given. I am pretty sure I need to focus on creating a mid-century/shabby chic dining and kitchen area. And possibly my whole house! I got this, and it will happen! 😉

Lemons! My Summer Obsession!!…Obviously!

I have  the two perfect vases for this. This will be my project for the weekend.  Hopefully I can find the sunflowers at the Farmers Market on Saturday! If so I will post my final outcome. 🙂

Lemon bouquet

Find a vase that fits inside another vase with half an inch of room between them. Fill the space between the two vases up most of the way with water before slipping in sliced lemons (the arrangement pictured required nine lemons). Pop your accent flowers (pictured are a dozen sunflowers) in the center vase, and voilà!
